Youngstown Cultural Arts Center is a multidisciplinary arts hub serving diverse audiences in the Delridge neighborhood of Southwest Seattle. The planned Theater upgrades include removal of a dysfunctional raised stage to create a flexible flat-floor performance space that more effectively supports theatrical, music, and dance performances, as well as enabling larger flat-floor events. Moveable drapery along the exterior window-wall provides black-out capability and acoustic dampening while allowing for natural lighting for daytime events and education programs. The projects includes replacement of retractable seating, renewed finishes, and updated lighting, mechanical and A/V systems.
