Looking to increase the flexibility of their current space, Pacific Northwest Ballet approached ORA to provide a concept study for future on-site expansion. A 34,000 sf events center below PNB’s current home is re-imagined with a new theater space and dance studios. Focusing on the ballet’s desire for an increased variety of performance and rehearsal spaces, ORA envisioned a terraced circulation spine accommodating informal gathering and non-traditional performance. Additionally, increasing the transparency of the current exterior wall creates visual and physical connections to these new lower level spaces, better integrating PNB to the Seattle Center campus.
