SHRAMAN MUSEUM AND LEARNING CENTER

ORA was commissioned in 2015 to participate in a design competition to create the Shraman Museum and Learning Center, in the heart of the cultural district in downtown Dallas, Texas. Collaborating with Framework Cultural Placemaking and Vikram Prakash, ORA developed three distinct alternative designs for interactive galleries, learning center, and extensive public open space. 

The proposals reflected mission of the museum to explore key aspects of South Asian culture, history, and present-day life and to build awareness and understanding of South Asia’s diverse cultural traditions and practices.  The learning center program included classes, host programs and events, and engage in educational outreach. The Museum itself includes interactive exhibits, demonstration gardens, and community space.
