CHAMBERS CREEK REGIONAL PARK STAGE STUDY

In March 2019 ORA was engaged by Pierce County Parks and Recreation to study the feasibility of integrating a stage pavilion and other improvements to the Central Meadow at Chambers Creek Regional Park. Chambers Creek Park is one of the region’s most significant public open spaces, renowned for its natural beauty, walking trails, generous open space, iconic relics, and breathtaking views. The study explored how improvements such as an event stage, picnic shelters, and infrastructure improvements could support more diverse community uses and examined key community concerns regarding acoustics, parking, traffic management, and how to preserve Chambers Creek Park’s unique beauty and identity. The team conducted an extensive community engagement process involving 3 major public reviews in the summer of 2019. The Stage Study will guide Pierce County Parks as it evaluates community input and possible future implementation of an events stage, picnic shelters and related enhancements to Chambers Creek Meadow. The project team included Groundswell landscape architects, Stantec acoustic consultants, Fehr and Peers traffic consultants, Tres West electrical engineers, Enviroissues community outreach consultants, AHBL civil and structural engineers, and KO Projects economics planning.
