CENTER FOR SPIRITUAL LIVING – SEATTLE, WA
This transformation of an aging 1961 church will create a vibrant new home for the Center For Spiritual Living in the Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle. The existing worship hall and education spaces will be upgraded with enhanced finishes/systems, improved support spaces, and seismic/accessibility/energy efficiency improvements. The Worship Hall will feature a more open stage, renewed lighting, and generously scaled doors opening to the new Fellowship Foyer, a light-filled communal space with engaging views to the surrounding landscape and a generous open stair connecting to the education spaces. The site is being extensively redeveloped to create more welcoming arrival and gathering spaces, a mediation court, better integrated parking, and lush new landscaping that blends well with the surrounding residential neighborhood. Collaborators include Place Landscape Architecture, IL Gross Structural Engineers, Barghausen civil engineers, Stantec Acoustic Consultants, Clegern Construction Management, and Ryan Construction. Project completion is planned in 2020.
